Setting up your first service

Manage your services types and default options for services

We're rapidly making improvements and the platform may or may not look the same as shown in the video, but the concepts remain the same.

Objective

In this video, I walk you through the process of categorising and naming our services effectively. I emphasise the importance of distinguishing between internal and external service names and provide examples of different service types we can offer. Additionally, I discuss how to set characteristics for these services, including delivery specifics and transit times. Please take a moment to think about any additional service classes we might want to include.


Field Mapping

This will help you understand what each form field does.

General Details

  • Fields that are mandatory are marked as * in the end.

  • A service can be disabled and the existing rate contracts with that service will not be able to process quotes/booking

Field Name

Description

Name*

The name of the service.

External Name*

The name which will be displayed in all documents and to the customers on Dyspach. The external name is defaulted to the value of name.

Service Class*

Choose the right service class which describes the service offered:

  • Priority

  • Same Day

  • Overnight

  • Next Day

  • Next Flight

  • Standard

  • Express

  • White Glove

  • Door Step

  • Ground Floor

  • Line Haul

Service Type*

Choose the right service type which describes the service offered:

  • Domestic

  • International

  • Cross Border

  • Multimodal

  • Rail

Service Details

If yes, then allow the service to drop shipments at PO Box addresses

If No, then this service has the authority to leave the consignment at the door and does not need a signature.

The option if the user does not want to activate the service, the check box can be un-checked.
