Objective
This tutorial covers creating and managing zones in a logistics system. Zones can be organized into folders, created manually using postcodes or suburbs, or imported via templates for bulk uploads. Settings like on-forwarding flags enable customization, and zones can be defined for cities, metro areas, or countries. Additional country data can be uploaded if needed, with advanced features to be explained in future tutorials.
Adding a new zone group
You can use zone groups to create collections of zones, for example, zones for different services or customers, zones from different carriers or zones for sequential years. Here are some examples...
FedEx Zones, Couriers Please Zones, Saia Zones.
ThatCustomer Zones, ThisCustomer Zones
Zones V1, Zones V2
Standard Zones 2024, Express Zones 2024
etc...
Fields that are mandatory are marked as * in the end.
Field Name | Description |
Zone Group Name* | The name of the zone group. |
Zone Group Description* | The description of the zone group. It is defaulted to the zone group name. |
Activate this zone group after creation | The option if the user does not want to activate the zone group, the check box can be un-checked. |
Add a new zone (Add one by one)

Field Name | Description |
Zone ID | The zone id. |
Zone Type | Define how the zone is based on:

Zone Value (Postcode/Suburb/ Area/City/State/Country) | Select the value as per the Zone Type you selected.

On-Forwarding Zone | If the zone is on-forwarding zone, then the value is Yes.

Add a new zone (Upload zones)
Bulk upload the zones using this functionality; a template is available for convenience and please refer to the video above for a to learn how to add your first zones.
When you are uploading zones from a file, only the Zone Values that match our Glossary will be added and the ones that don't match will be available as Error Logs in the Activity Center.
